The questionnaire gives us a sense of your preferences, your past experience (if any) working with a designer, and what the project might involve. We found that gathering this information in advance improves efficiency and ensures we are able to arrive prepared and able to make the best use of our time during the first consultation.
CONSULT + SITE SURVEY
First in person meeting either at our studio ( if you are building) or on site of the project. This is when we visit the location of the project and more details about functional needs and aesthetic preferences. and It’s time for us to get to know you at our first appointment. Measurements and photos will be taken for reference during planning. REWORK
SPACE PLANNING / FLOOR PLAN

Creating a scaled space plan ( if applicable) is an important first step in the design process as this determines how a space will be used. It ensures that the layout supports the needs of the people using it—whether it's for living, working, entertaining, or any other activity. Without understanding the function, design choices can end up being inefficient or impractical.
If applicable to your project, we will draw a space plan to help determine new layouts, best furniture size and placement, lighting locations and overall flow.
DESIGN CONCEPT
Once space plans are finalized, and with the information that's been gathered through the previous steps, a comprehensive design concept is created. This is an open/organic conversation giving the clients to offer candid feedback and request any chganges they may want to see.

Does Modern Whimsy order the merchandise or does the client? The answer to this is both... or either. There are often times when it's in the clients best interest for our team to order, track, receive, inspect and deliver the merchandise. Other times it makes more sense for us to provide the source and/or details of what needs to be purchased and have the client execute this step independently. We will discuss this step and determine together which approach works best for the project. We have a system in place that allows us to provide our clients with the information they need to be able to carry out the design plan with the confidence.
IMPLEMENTATION
The final phase of the project when the key pieces of furniture are in place and we arrive to install finishing touches. Hanging art, window treatments and other decor.
